Overview
Spotted Woodcreeper: Fairly large woodcreeper with uniformly rufous-brown upperparts and pale spotted underparts. Has more of a green-yellow look than any other woodcreeper. Throat is pale yellow with small dark spots, and it has a broad buffy eyering. Bill is long and fairly stout. Sexes similar. Juvenile is more brown overall with spotting being somewhat indistinct.
Range and Habitat
Spotted Woodcreeper: Occurs from southern Mexico to Ecuador. In Costa Rica found in mid-elevation forests throughout the country, mostly in well-developed, moist forests of the mountains rather than in second growth or open habitats.
